MARINA viii

(Rom 12: 2)

The Lord could speak of it as food
But we need chastisement to move
Our stolid hearts until we prove
That in each detail it is "good".

It was "acceptable" to Christ
In concept and in consequence;
In us His Spirit helps dispense
With promptings of our carnal geist.

The perfect Man could perfectly
Fulfil God's "perfect" will; but we
Imperfectly behave, or see,
Until with Christ eternally.

It is "of God" and He is Son
Of God; yet none has borne the cost
To do God's will and save the lost
As Jesus in His grace has done.

  1. this is so good david.
i remember when the golden children were young that we had to be chastised so many times by mom golden and now that we are all a lot older, we understand that it hurt her as much as it hurt us but it was done because of love and we have seen the results.

same as the lord loves us so much!

    Hebrews 12:5-7 (King James Version)

5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

the lord was perfect man and yet "the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
    oh what a saviour!
