APPROACH TO THE TABERNACLE (IX)

All men with whom rams' skins died red were found
Brought them - to be the cover of the tent:
And love made the supply of them abound.

In everything Christ is preeminent
And what is suited to Him is secured
Since He went to the ultimate extent.

For Christ has died; the thorn-bound ram endured
The way by which acceptance is secured.

APPROACH TO THE TABERNACLE (VIII)

The outer covering of badger skin

Guarded the tent against the wilderness,

Protecting priests and furnishings within.

A practical and watchful holiness

Is needed to protect what God finds dear,

Done in a way that's ostentationless.

Death is entailed; if priests are to draw near,

Death must apply - and love will cast out fear.

APPROACH TO THE TABERNACLE (VII)

The entrance of the tent of meeting was

The place of offering; there they ate ram and bread

Of consecration to take up God's laws.

Christ is the point of access; we are led

To Him, and thus engage in joyful praise

Since He has died and risen from the dead.

And we have strength and life throughout our days

To honour in accordance with God's ways.

APPROACH TO THE TABERNACLE (VI)

The laver stood between the altar and
The tabernacle; as they went to serve
At either, priests would wash each foot and hand.

Through grace we have been washed, without reserve,
To free us to be priests, fit to approach:
A suitability we must preserve.

The water cleanses from what may encroach,
The word frees from things that may cause reproach.

APPROACH TO THE TABERNACLE (V)

Only the priesthood whom the Lord appointed

May go beyond the altar, fitly dressed

For glory and adornment, and anointed.

You must become a priest.  You have been blessed;

Associated with the heavenly Man

Let God desires in manhood be expressed.

The Spirit gives us grace so that we can

Answer God's thoughts before the world began.
