As far as Bethany
Christ led the twelve -
Within their midst
He raised His hands to bless
And in that manner
they saw the Lord ascend:
And in that manner,
they learned, He'll come again.
They were sent back
towards Jerusalem
There to await the
next sublime event:
The Holy Spirit
coming at Christ's behest.
Meanwhile in heaven
the Lord set down Himself
Upon the Father's
throne in evidence
That all is done;
and love is manifest.
Heaven assured a
splendid recompense
While God assigned
the richest diadem.
