I remember the relish
With which, when preaching, my father
Would say
“The blessed God”.
I often heard John
Speak to his God and Father,
But one distinct word I remember:
“At-homedness”.
Twice I have heard Burton
Enunciate distinctly,
Giving each vowel its value,
“Be-ne-fi-ci-a-ry”.
If I could leave behind
One distinctive word
Of relationship with God -
That would content me.
David,
ReplyDeleteInteresting perspective to answer the question of just what word could I leave behind to describe my relationship with God, eternal perhaps!

I love the way that TDB says 'The Blesséd God' when - he is so earnest in his representation of God, and yet at the same time it is a wonderful appeal to the listener.
