As the disciples watched One who would rather
Face death than fail to do Another's will
They saw a first-beloved with a father.
That One, who in His service could be still
Within the Father's bosom, could fulfil
God's purposes, as One whom God prepared:
It is by such a One God is declared.

I like this line "it is by such a One God is declared" because it illustrates that Jesus' purpose and determination was not only to be The Lamb, slaughtered for our redemption, but also to point to God, his Father. Throughout the 6th chapter of John, Jesus continuously points to his Father. He leads the reader and believer to his Father. And indeed, his broken body and shed blood was to restore us to fellowship with The One True God.
