Loch Linnhe
If we will live, we must be subject to
The Father as the One who has the Name
Father of spirits; He will bear us through
His chastening. We gladly own His claim
Upon us since it from Him we came;
He rules our spirits in a way to suit
Our needs, and to secure from us His fruit.
Hebrews 12: 9
Thanks. THats is true en nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and insightful way to describe God's purging of the branches. The last line, "He rules our spirits in a way to suit
ReplyDeleteOur needs, and to secure from us His fruit," gives me chills, in a good way.
This is because I think about how we suffer through God's purging, so we always think it's for his unknown purposes. Your light on it, however, says that we can't realize the fulfillment of our dreams, needs and personal prayers without it. Even the securing of his fruit from us (and what a great twist of words) blesses us because we are the better for it.
Have you compiled a book and listed it on Amazon?
Sandi
Thanks, Sandi. I needed the word myself today.
DeleteI have nothing on Amazon but there is a link to a couple of books on Lulu at the top right of the page. Click on my name in Lulu to get to the three books I have there. I'm working on more, among my various ploys.
Thanks for the info. I visited your Lulu page. Your 2 free "Blessings" links at the top of Grace Notes are defunct. I'm going to share this poem at Draw Nigh To Hope with a link-back to Grace Notes. Take care. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteGood, thank you. The link to "Vessel" seems to work.
DeleteBlessing for the Lord's day tomorrow.
Yes, I did use the "Vessels" link to visit your Lulu page and saw your 3 books.
DeleteHere's the link to the post, David. Blessings to you and yours! http://drawnightohope.blogspot.com/2021/10/poetry-about-our-father-from-david-c.html
