EARS

By what authority did Jesus speak
And to which principle did He adhere?
"Morning by morning He openeth mine ear".
He would not speak that which He did not hear:
In words or deeds obedience was complete
Unto the cross ‑ the uttermost extreme.
But as He went He heard the cries of need
From those around and always stopped to heal.
Exalted now the Saviour still takes heed
Of every prayer and every humble plea:
His ears are open and still He will relieve
All who are weary, as their sustaining Priest.

  2. dear david..i just came here to read your poems and find some comfort in them.
dad golden is very ill in the hospital and although it is late at night, i cannot sleep.
this poem has already encouraged me.
dad golden is not saved yet and he is 83.
but as long as he is living God is ready, willing and able to save him.
when i read this encouraging poem of yours i thought of these words that a brother once said in his prayer to the Lord.
oh Lord, thou didst stoop so low to pick up something so little."
thank God that this is what He did for sinners david and this is what He is still doing for dad golden.....christian love terry

    John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

    thank you david!

  3. Sisters,

Thank you for your comments. It took the thief to his last hours till he found his Saviour; and we do not know how many the Lord know as His when we do not know. Pray on!
